EWS Full Form – Full form of EWS is the Economically Weaker Section. Let us tell you that the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in India is a subgroup of those who fall in the unreserved category and whose annual family income is less than Rs.8 lakh. All the candidates who do not fall in the SC, ST, and OBC categories or do not take advantage of any reservation and whose annual family income is less than Rs.8 lakh, then they can apply for an EWS certificate.
Provision for Economically Weaker Section
Let us tell you that the (103rd CAA) Constitution Bill, 2019 was introduced by the Central Government of India. Which included a 10% quota for EWS for unreserved or general category students. Economically weak general category can get EWS Certification made. But the eligibility for this certificate will not only be determined by the annual family income, but it will also determine the eligibility according to the property.
Eligibility Criteria for EWS Certificate
Such candidates who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes and whose annual family income is Rs.8 lakh or less. People will be included in EWS. Income will include income from all sources like agriculture, salary, business, profession, etc. for the financial year preceding the year of application. Apart from this, those who have or have any of the following assets with the family, will not be included in the Economically Weaker Section (Economically Weaker Section) even after the annual income of the family is less than 8 lakhs.

- Those who have 5 acres or more agricultural land.
Such a family or candidate has a residential area of 1000 square feet or more.
- Residential plots of 100 square yards and above in notified municipalities.
- Having residential plots of 200 square yards and above in areas other than notified municipalities.
- Family will include all those people who want to take benefit of the reservation. In addition to the parents,
- whoever is below the age of 18 years, siblings, spouses,s, and children below the age of 18 years will also be included.
